Recipe For Life

If your life were a recipe, what would be the key ingredients?

I’ve been playing with this concept with a coaching client. Maybe it interests you…write your recipe—for the life you’re living now, and/or the one you envision for yourself. Think of it as a playful but powerful exercise in self-reflection. Enjoy!

·       What are your essential ingredients? The big pieces that create the overall flavor of your life. Topics like personal growth, health, friendships, work life, family, finances, spirituality, recreation. You might also have fun with ideas like “2 cups of courage, a splash of solitude, a handful of belly laughs”

·       What’s your method? Do you slow simmer or pressure cook your days?!

·       What ingredients have you been leaving out—or adding too much of?

·       What would the recipe look like if it were more aligned with your truth?

Try writing two versions: the current recipe and the one you’re craving. Notice what shifts. This is creative soul work. Don’t worry about “getting it right.” Just stir in some honesty, sprinkle on humor, and see what starts to rise.
